Ryan W. Conn

President, Partner

Ryan is from Ann Arbor, Michigan and moved to Paducah, Kentucky in 2006.  He partnered with Wayne at Shelton & Associates, CPA, PLLC in 2018.  Ryan specializes in high level customized Business Advisory, including leadership, business best practices, and Forensic Accounting. Ryan is the creator of the Business Foundations program.

He graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 2006 where he obtained his BS in Criminal Justice.  Ryan spent just shy of 12 years serving his community as a Paducah Police Officer.  Ryan obtained the rank of senior Sergeant before leaving.  He served in many roles during his time in Law Enforcement including over 4 years in investigations as a Detective and Detective Sergeant of an undercover drug and vice crimes unit.  He spent over 10 years on the SWAT Team and was the Team Leader.  He additionally attended multiple prestigious leadership trainings including The Academy of Police Supervision, a 3-week intensive course, and from the FBI.  Ryan was certified as an instructor or trainer of over 15 separate disciplines including Firearms, Active Shooter, Riot, and a Police Training Officer to name a few.  Ryan leads the Forensic Accounting division of Shelton & Associates, CPA, PLLC, and works closely with clients providing consultation help them improve and achieve their financial goals.

Ryan is very active in the community and serves his church as a Deacon for Benevolence, Safety, and Missions.  He additionally serves through Rotary, and as a board member or team member and donor to several charities.  Ryan is passionate about helping children in hard places and helping everyone around him become better. 

Ryan spends his free time with his family and friends playing games and enjoying the outdoors.  His hobbies and outside interests are firearms and tactics, martial arts, mountain biking and hunting.  He is devoted to helping his family become faithful, helpful, and capable citizens.
